Welcome to 2018!
The gates of 2018 have opened! This is essentially a new era. This year, I plan on investigating science some more. Did you know that approximately 30 percent of the universe, which is an even larger percentage of matter, is thought to be invisible! Not just invisible as in, transparent; it's much more intriguing than that! In fact, this percentage which is invisible, and consists of dark matter, doesn't interact with light at all! The electromagnetic spectrum of light; while we only see approximately three percent of the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from ultra powerful cosmic rays to radar which can produce clearer astronomical imagery than IR light, let alone visible light wavelengths, the question that I have is...what's beyond the electromagnetic spectrum?! Let this question sink in for a moment. Graviational waves; what will they uncover about our universe? After all, gravity waves are essentially the same as light; chance are that they reflect, refract, and have other properties of light. People have been wondering whether or not the paranormal exists, or if the unexplained resides somewhere in the realm of light which is IR or UV light. But there are so many other spectrums that one could analyze, albeit not without difficulty. I'm not saying that the paranormal necessarily does or doesn't exist, but at least the supernatural does! Yes, because the supernatural means something that's essentially more than natural. I like to put the label "supernatural" on stuff. The universe is supernatural in a way, because we know so little about it, even though it might seem otherwise. I think that this year, major discoveries are coming, and that we will advance into observing reality using gravity waves! I haven't used my telescope in years, so I should definitely do some astronomy this year, and try to do some photography through a telescope. I plan on visiting the Fox Park Observatory pretty soon!

To Sum Up 2017
That's it! Time to sum up 2017. This may take a while! This year brought with it many interesting science stories, and nearing the end of the year, or for about the past two months, the climate and weather started to do some interesting things here on Earth! There are also other things that I had written, although science and weather stories so far seem to be the most popular among readers, garnering up to about 400 views per day on rare occasion. The weekly views have recently been more or less stable at about 1,000 pageviews per month. Anyways, Here's a summary of many of my posts, starting from the earliest to some of the latest!

Early on, I had my own theories about science and have written more about my own ideas, rather than posting links to sources. Some Ice Crystal Photography
The temperature at which I took these photos was 12 degrees. I used special lighting techniques to get the most compelling images. Unfortunately, this (the weather) wasn't warm enough to produce dendrites...not yet! New years is supposed to herald in warmer weather, so I expect some more or less dendritic sky crystals! Just imagine what larger ice crystals must look like in this type of lighting!! Instagram is being kind of unresponsive right now so I emailed the photos to myself but am awaiting my phone to charge. I don't know whether or not these photos are Flickr worthy, but I suppose, (I guess) that it wouldn't be a great idea, since I've lost followers that haven't liked some of my photos because they have a different flavor when it comes to photography.

Drone Research
This is so frustrating; drones don't meet my requirements. After doing much research into drones from various manufacturers/brands, I've decided that none meet my requirements...you see, there are about 10 drones that ALMOST meet my requirements. And my requirements include the ability to take at least 16 megapixel photos using uncompressed format, as well as 25 minute flight time, at least 2 axis gimbal, f/1.2 aperture, at least 45 mph speed, and at least 1 mile range. Is that too much to ask for? And have it be under $800. For about 10 drones that I've recently looked into, each one seems to have just one spec/aspect/detail about it that doesn't meet my requirements. For goodness sake, change (improve) that one feature and I'll buy it!

Oh I so wish that I could take my telescope outside right now and take some photos and/or videos of the night sky! I probably need a better camera with an aperture of f/1.0 or quicker, and a telescope of diameter 16 inches or more. I wish I could record 120 frames per second in clear video of the night sky so as to see stars well.

What I Learned From Photoshop And Other Image enhancement
This post will be about what I learned from enhancing my photos using Photoshop. I learned that after adjusting the RAW file using camera RAW, there is generally not much you can do to further improve the photo using image enhancement tools. I mean, at least some of the photos don't benefit from any further improvement, because most to all of the magic is accomplished using camera RAW. Using high pass is really interesting, but I can't really tell if it ruins the photo, or makes it better. So what I like to do is to keep more than one version of some of my photos. There's no single, optimal or perfect setting for the High Pass filter for any image in particular; to get the best results, you need to use layer masks in addition to the High Pass filter. This is what I did for the following photo, and it came out perhaps just as incredible as it would've had I used RAW format: https://www.flickr.com/photos/31391486@N04/23541954290/in/dateposted-public/ . This photo in particular shows that Ansel Adams-like photos are possible even without HDR or dodging/burning! I was greatly surprised by this fact! I was able to figure out, while out light I painting, that you can recreate light of various color or hue, using a single white light. In fact, you can actually use any color you want. I learned through discussion that various channels in the RGB spectrum can contain various amounts of noise, so reducing noise in only one or two channels might be a better idea than overall noise reduction. I really like NIK software; it has superb noise reduction and great sharpening, as well as HDR features! Over the past few years, I've been able to use Photoshop and NIK collection for free! It's a shame I don't have all of the free software anymore, although I still have NIK as well as GIMP, which are pretty much all that I need for achieving perfect photos. GIMP uses plugins/scripts that are free, unlike Photoshop, and the plugins that I've used in particular are great except that you can't really do HDR using Gimp (you can only do exposure blending). The image averaging plugin is great for GIMP as it allows you to reduce noise without reducing detail (preserving detail). I still wish that there was a superresolution feature for the GIMP so that I could increase resolution without simply increasing image size (actually bringing in extra detail). That's the thing; how do you increase resolution in software? There are pretty much no options that I know of for doing so, except Photoacute.

If you haven't read my comment on Youtube, here's a very compelling idea... I recently saw a video about what if people could see the whole Electromagnetic (EM) spectrum. Well that's a pretty ambitious thought, isn't it? What if you took that idea, and essentially flipped it around, to state the opposite?! I mean, if your vision relied on a very narrow spectrum of light, then you could really focus in on reality! Think about studying in college; when you focus on a specific subject only, then your chances of succeeding increase because you're then less distracted by other things, or subjects. This is an analogy, because when it comes to the spectrum of light, the more you see, doesn't necessarily mean that you're seeing any better. The analogy; likewise, if our human vision was limited to only a very narrow spectrum of wavelengths of light, then we'd be able to focus specifically on some aspects of reality. So don't panic or fret over the fact that human vision, or more specifically color perception, is limited to only a small percentage of the electromagnetic spectrum, because otherwise, there might be too much interference that could overwhelm us and our mind. Colors are only caused by the process of the mind, outside of which every wavelength of light which is part of the electromagnetic spectrum is of the same color, or more scientifically, there is nothing more than black and white. Theoretically, the mind could see far more colors than we do currently. Although we don't notice it much, even if we notice at all, in our everyday lives, every wavelength of light focuses a specific way. For example, take a manual focus Camera (set it to manual focus) and take a photo of ruler, so that the depth of field is as narrow as you can get it. Make sure you use a full spectrum camera, and take a UV photo, then, without changing anything, take an IR photo. You'd notice that the focus is shifted! And what's beyond the EM spectrum?!

I got some good stuff as presents
Well as tradition, my family opens presents today, the 24th. I got some good presents. They include some 'sweat pants' with pockets, flexible light, pen lights, as well as a video light for smartphones! Unfortunately, the video light doesn't work for my camera so I'll try to exchange it for one that does work for my camera. Meanwhile, I'm thinking about what I want for my birthday. I'm thinking about getting another micro phone lens, but first I'm going to have to wait until I get a really high quality smartphone, which won't be happening for quite some time. Hmm, what else could I ask for my birthday?! A happy new year at least! My birthday is the 31st, so it makes sense, since my birthday heralds in the new year! I always thought that I was born during a magical time of year! There's just something about it that I don't understand.

Reflections of The Future
While there are many supposed unexplained phenomena, from ghosts and UFOs to parallel universes, one thing that I'm almost sure of is dream interpretation. I think that there is "dark matter" in our dreams from time to time, and I say this because it seems to reflect the future onto our present time. So there could be another dimension, in which there's a flat surface that perhaps shimmers and our minds can pick it up during dreams! Seriously. Think about it, mirrors reflect, and so if would have to be something flat to reflect information from the future into our present. Well I haven't been doing anything practical for the last few weeks, as a result I feel very extremely brain dead! Wow! What Happened To Me After Watching Supposed Cursed Video
Dude! WTF?! This night, which is the night of the winter solstice, the most fascinating and magnificent thing happened to me! At first, I watched a video at about 8:30 PM about cursed videos, and it showed snippets of the videos, which were supposed to bring bad luck. I don't know if this is what they brought me, but if my dreams this night are a result of these videos, then we're talking about something that's indescribable! I just awoke at about 5:30 AM. I had a dream, in which I traveled with about 25 other people about my size through world locations, with Chinese mountains being the last trip before my awakening. My parents were meanwhile on vacation to some country in Europe and I was supposed to be with them but for some reason which I don't remember, I got taken away from them. While travelling throughout these places with the group of people, we would train outside to become acclimated to the environment. Throughout the overall trip, we experienced lots of different snow types coming down. When I touched the snow, it wasn't cold though. While the snow was falling and when I held some of it in my hand, I felt the most magical feeling that I doubt can even be described; it was better than anything, any feeling or emotion that you experience during the holidays. I was in a world that was not ours, and the places that we traveled to were far in between. Just about all that we did was to hike. But a moment before this dream, I had another equally, or perhaps even more tantalizing, dream. The world around me was a video game, or at least it felt like it. A large DVD, about the size of a car or larger, appeared in front of me. The details here are sketchy at best, but I'll try my best to describe them. I took the DVD and simply waved it in the air, and suddenly, without warning, the DVD made it's way out of my hand by an unseen force and floated perfectly still in the air, inside of an invisible DVD player! It was a movie about evil or something like that. As I watched it in the forest in my backyard, I had an intense feeling that I was under control by an evil entity as I made random actions (I say random because I don't remember what they were). But, as time progressed, I started to regain control of myself, and the movie kept playing. Although I don't remember much detail from the movie, as I watched it, I felt a malevolent force that would dance and conflict with a force of good. As these forces fought with each other, I felt a strange mix of indescribable emotions; when the good force won, I felt an indescribably good feeling, and otherwise I felt an indescribably bad feeling. By the time the movie was finished, I thought back to the feelings that I had and, thinking back on them, they felt totally magnificent! At the end of the movie, I had total control over my destiny and my emotions! This was totally indescribable but the best that I can describe it is that it was moving, in an extra dimensional sense! I then entered into a world of playing video games, and they were otherworldly; I don't remember much about what they were about or what was in them, but it was overall a mix of everything good and bad. I could feel my emotions expanding, entering an emotion which I can't name because it's an emotion that's totally unknown to me. I felt like I was benefiting greatly from this experience and that I was on drugs. I felt like in a world that I was meant to be in.

Photo and video experiments
I like shining light from various angles and compositing each photo into a single photo. I also think that it would be like magic to do long exposure time lapse through a microscope! I enjoy the long exposure technique of using a flashlight, illuminating the subject by moving the flashlight to smear the light out, and then doing it from various angles and then compositing the images such as what I did for my profile photo. The problems with compositing RAW files is that the initial processed RAW files look great to begin with, and afterwards it can be really overwhelming and it's essentially identical to creating an HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photo. I'm looking forward to creating more interesting, alternative photography for the next year.

Life Is The Opposite Of Respite, Elation, And Relief
The only way for relief, respite, or elation to come along is when everything ends.
Some Photos Taken Following The Recent Winter Storm!
These photos were challenging at best, to take. Following the recent winter storm, we had a sunny day and the ice crystals would melt despite a temperature of 14 degrees. Then you had to factor in the fact that, while I was photographing these crystals, there was wind that would try to blow away my sample. Also, throughout the day, even when the wind stopped, the snow would come down too fast and in many numbers (at a very quick rate), so I have a very limited time span to capture these photos, let alone capture them at the greatest detail possible. The ice crystals have to be more or less perfectly flat to be all in focus at once, which was daunting to do, given that I had practically nothing with me to accomplish this. This started with my very first camera, a Canon A460, which had only about 4 or 5 megapixel resolution, albeit had super macro mode, allowing it to focus down to 1 centimeter from the lens, although back then I had no way to reliably stabilize the camera; the quality of the camera's lens was surprisingly good though. I had also tried to do so with a microscope lens that I bought for my cellphone, however, to this day I haven't found the lens ever again, although that lens, surprisingly enough, allowed me to magnify stuff more than the microscope used for these images! It's kind of sad that this is just about the best result I can get with my current setup, given that I use an advanced point and shoot as well as a microscope; I mean, it's not really a cheap setup. I have also tried using an SLR camera to get such photos, which came out about the same quality as these although the problem with that was the setup, which wasn't very practical at all. So that's how I take really close up photos. The ice crystals that formed during this first winter storm of the season were mostly fairly small and uninteresting shapes, although the next few days afterwards, there was a fairly balanced mix of ice crystals as temperatures ranged from about 14 degrees, but mostly in the low 20's. These temperatures shouldn't be conducive towards the formation of interesting large crystals, but my photos prove otherwise! The largest snowflakes that I witnessed during these last few days were so large that I couldn't photograph the entire crystals at once (about 4 millimeters!). I thought about making a "panorama", or mosaic out of multiple individual photos, but the wind wouldn't let me. My hands didn't want to get cold despite me being outside with no gloves on for hours with temperatures hovering at no more than about 25 degrees. The current forecast calls for warmer temperatures, with at least some chance of snow, so I'd say to expect even larger sky crystals and I hope for more photos! And maybe some time, I will change my setup. I just thought that this is an interesting thing to do, I like photography, and I like to study how the light reflects from the structures of the crystals when the light shines from differing angles! Another major problem with getting these photos is that a lot of light is lost between the sample and the camera, so you have to somehow hold the camera steadily for a relatively long time, even at noon, because of the exposure time (shutter speed), which for me was about 1/4th of a second or longer
. And if the sun is shining without any clouds blocking, then you should probably forget about it; the ice crystals will melt if that is the case, before you can even take a good photo. I have wondered, "what kind of ice crystals would form had the temperature been 10 degrees or colder?". Or for example, "what kinds of snowflakes would be created at low air pressures?"

That was something...A Strange Coincidence Today
So something fell out of the sky while I was observing falling snow; That was something. First of all, Today I tried out super macro photos of ice crystals, as this was the first significant snowfall of the season. I had a dark hat put on a surface so that the sky crystals (snow) would fall and I could magnify them. To get a really good photo, you better have a shit ton of light for the camera to pick up. I think that with a smartphone the results would be of a little bit less detail, at least with smartphones of the modern era as they only come up to about 16 megapixels, although I'm thinking that with a smartphone, the setup and/or process of photographing crystals up close would probably be easier as compared to a traditional camera. That's why it was sad when I lost my magnifier for my smartphone; that actually worked as well as a microscope! However, I'll set that thought aside for a moment because even though I didn't get to take an interesting macro/micro photo today, something truly surprising occurred. Even though there were at least a few thousand, if not several thousand, ice crystals that fell onto the hat, they almost all seemed to be of the "dry kind" (powdery type) of snow, which is rather small and doesn't make for interesting images unless perhaps you magnify them about a hundred times or so, but at that magnification you'd run into problems trying to get a photo of good quality. But what caught my attention was something that fell on the hat that didn't seem to belong with all of the other snowflakes; it was a dendritic snow crystal! Just one, and thousands of others were not dendritic. What a strange coincidence?

What Life Should Mean
In my opinion, life is meant to be peaceful and pleasant, and neither peace nor pleasure is a part of my life. I'm a lost soul who can't ever get back to the life that is meant to be. I remember it being different, but I can't even grasp the fact that life is how it is or how it was, because the difference is something, an aspect, that I can't describe. Life and the benefits that it provides, which include happiness and anything that is good, is not worth my pain and suffering.
I'm not interested in anything anymore. I just want peace. So don't tell me about anything interesting, because it's to no avail. Don't encourage anything from me anymore, because life is no good. Everything, all that anything is, is a lost cause. I'm not actually causing any benefit to anyone or anything, I'm just someone who needs to alleviate the pain.

It's definitely not because of me, it's because of others. But they will keep maltreating me until I die, and never saying "sorry". I should've died a while ago; I would've then had peace and not had to go through all of this shit anymore. I don't want to go through any shit anymore, I just, I want everything to go away. Just about everyone, has made me feel horrible deep inside because they haven't given me any feedback, they couldn't possibly care less about how I feel.

I Once Thought That Life Had Meaning, But I Live In A Void

I didn't want life to be this way, but I've been born into a void full of nothing except despair, and everything that is bad. For most of my life, there was happiness and good memories, but now I realize, after the good feelings have gone away, that life is perpetual suffering. Therefore, I have concluded that there can't possibly be a meaning to life, because it's meaningless. All of the suffering that I've been going through, so much despair; what's the meaning of that? It's never made me stronger or better. Life is literally something that has destroyed me, especially in a psychological sense. How can this end well? It can't. There's no way. I don't look forward to anything. This is real, you can't really make this up!

I'm Frustrated And Furious At This Time Of Year
I wonder if the winds that are coming will be too much for a mini drone though. They will probably decimate pretty much any drone within a minute. The drones that I found include brands such as AEE, Feima, as well as other 16 megapixels drones but the problem is that the format that they use is only in Jpeg, which means that the quality of the photos is going to be horrible. The 4k video is horrible compared to 4k RAW but it's still pretty good I suppose. They really need to upgrade the drone industry.
I Want A Mini Drone For My Birthday
So as I've already mentioned, each drone that I find just doesn't live up to my desires. I wish I could get a mini drone, something about the size of 6 by 6 inches, that could meet the requirements of drones such as the DJI Phantom or Autel X, that could have many more pixels, at least 16. I suppose that I could get rid of 4k video requirements as long as the drone had a decent camera for photography. I hope the drone can fly for at least 30 minutes and for a speed of at least about 45 mph, and that's about all. Is it really that difficult to come up with a drone that can meet such requirements?!

I like to observe the weather a lot, and spend much of my time just looking at the clouds. I look at the sky about once every few hours over the past several years. Thinking or wondering whether or not climate change is actually happening? Here's something interesting and perhaps troubling; It's been about four years since I've seen a Cumulonimbus clouds. And it's been actually quite a while since I've seen those interesting cumulus clouds that were once a common occurrence. It's been about four years since any significant weather warnings or watches were issued in my area, and it's been four years, going on 5, since any major tornadoes or any tornado outbreaks have occurred. That's something that they're not telling us in the news. Yet, major tornadoes were once a common occurrence before 2014. My question? Why is this happening?!

Reality, (you might laugh) has literally been killing me psychologically. I can't stress this too much. I wish that someone would already pull the cord on this simulation, literally. Seriously. I'm truly disappointed that I can't write what I want. I want to write what's true and honest. I want to escape reality. I sincerely and honestly hope that this reality which we live in is simply a computer simulation, or at least that's what I like to think. If so, that would let my soul finally come to rest. Yes, that's true, I'm not being insane, my existence would be better because I wouldn't have to worry about life anymore. And don't go to your friends snitching on me. What's Really Weird, Is That...
What's actually truly bizarre, is the fact that we could theoretically become a dystopia in which we were to not know what country we'd be from. For example, we could be brainwashed by the media, and we already are to some level, that the news that's given to us is coming from Korea, while it's actually coming from Japan. And they could be showing us pictures from China, while it's actually Japanese. The Japanese were supposed to be the supreme leaders of the world, but for some reason there was a change in things. And for strange reasons, those which I don't necessarily understand, times are better off now rather than if everyone spoke German or Japanese. I sometimes think of why people prefer these times, when the western world is basically ruled by either America or the EU. I don't think it's all that interesting anymore. It's gotten to be truly boring, and I seek happiness where their actually isn't any left in my life. The lack of new music and movies is killing me inside. And the lack of adventure and lack of new places to visit is killing me. We need to really roll the political dice to mix things up so that everything becomes more interesting on this world from now on, shouldn't we? Lack of emotions and feelings in my life deteriorates me psychologically and mentally, because I'm bored of everything by now. I enjoy reading about quantum mechanics. Nothing interesting or neat comes up on Facebook except once in a few days or less often. It's more than depressing, that it must be the same still.

Black Friday/ Monday Deals
I didn't take advantage of Black Friday, and I didn't take advantage of Cyber Monday. Neither this year nor previous years. I just never really bought anything during this time of year. The 31st of December is the most exciting day of the whole year, not Black Friday/Cyber Monday! I want to get either the DJI Spark or Bebop drone. Reporting back, I didn't find any electronics that could've been cheaper today than on Friday. I guess that for some like you, the search might not be over. But for me, it's pretty settled down. 'Haunted' electronics
Electronics are essentially haunted. That's how I feel every time I use an electronic device. I know it's "fun", but there's something indescribable about this world of electronics! I mean, we have to be truly careful what we do and say, not just over social media, but also in the presence of an electronic device, especially if it's a new device. It's something that might sound extremely strange, however, it's true and I can't really explain it. I know this because it either brings me luck or no luck everytime I apply this logic. The experiment in which people could change computer code or operation via their deepful, mindful, and concentrated thinking is quite appaling compared to what I just wrote, because what I just wrote is far more interesting and important. When I say something bad when the electronic devices aren't put away, it's as though I get a bad feeling and get bad luck afterwards. Seriously, though, please consider this. Again, this is something that goes by unexplained and I try to solve this mystery but no one's going to think that I'm telling the truth. I feel the surge of bad luck sometimes and it makes me seem insane whenever
i start talking about it, but it's true nonetheless. My life revolves around truly bad luck, but that's an understatement. I hate the people of this world for putting me down if I were to tell this to anyone.

Why must my life be so full of stupid shit people talk about during family gatherings?! To start off this post...Oh yeeah 5:00 AM already, man this night kind of flew by I guess, well, at least compared to previous days. What to do today? I sure hope that you are all not distracted by something else other than my posts on blogger! Like maybe thanksgiving distracts you, or something else? You know what, I hate special occasions such as thanksgiving. And guess what? During those times, when family gets together, my family talks about the stupid shit that I really shouldn't hear, and will probably talk about uncomfortable shit. Yes, if this offends you, and you know me, I don't care. I need to get the message out so that someone hears me. After all, the people who I'm with the most is family, and it hasn't had a good influence on me.
The Simulated Reality
So I've been thinking about this theory, simulated reality. I've been thinking since time seems to literally go away based on our perception, during sleep, that this is when the simulation is disrupted for us. Yet what's interesting is that if the world stopped spinning, we would, supposedly, go into a state where we would sleep for about 24 hours, followed by about 48 hours of sleeplessness; does this indicate that the origins of our dna come from somewhere else? Anyway, yes, time literally seems to vanish as we're in deep sleep and not dreaming. When we're dead, it doesn't matter now because you don't experience anything; you don't even see black. When dead, we experience time as going by as fast as possible, or even faster! In fact, one million years of being unconscious would be over in the single smallest unit of time. In my opinion, this is not something to be afraid of, this is actually downright perplexing to ponder, isn't it? So, since time can be manipulated by our perception this way, then what does this tell us about the theory of simulated reality? And what is the relationship between simulated reality and the holographic principle? Hmm... interesting how virtual reality and holographic displays go together in a sense, isn't it? Now, if that's not perplexing, then what is?
Weather clashes with war (fiction)
In the midst of elements, the collision of freezing rain and raging fire is met with overpowering ambition. As forces run out along the 10,000 mile stretch of land stretching north to south, they come across both polar and extremely hot conditions. A force of 10,000 primitive Whiteshirts fights off against a force of 1,000 highly advanced Blackshirts amidst an inland hurricane, the likes of which has never been witnessed before. As war mingles with the forces of nature, a brief blast of gamma rays disrupts all life, making electronics malfunction. Eventually, the supervolcano erupts, causing the reversal of warmth along the entire expanse of the peninsula.
