The top photo is the LG; these two devices have prices that are relatively close: The LG cost about $510, while the Sony cost $598. Personally, I think that I prefer the colors of the top one. But you can't really increase resolution as easily as correcting color. Which is a major reason why my pick for image quality is the Sony.

Comparing the image quality of a smartphone vs premium compact camera
LG G6 (1/3 inch sensor, 13 megapixels) vs Sony RX100 II (1 inch sensor, 20 megapixels) Each photo has been edited in Adobe camera raw to reveal the shadows as much as possible and highlights reduced as much as possible, as well as clarity and vibrance increased. Which one do you prefer?
